My dh is still having headaches from his tetnus shot. At first, he had a sore arm, woozieness and nausea. Those all cleared up in a day, but he's still having headaches. I'm beginning to be sorry I made him get the d@mn shot. I only wanted to protect him from what I knew to be a deadly disease and now, I fear I have made him sick anyway. Are these headaches a normal reaction? When can we expect them to stop?

Grace - I had a tetnus shot about 3 months ago and I don't remember having any headaches from it. That's not to say it's not a possible reaction though. My arm was a bit sore at the injection site though.

Growing up on a farm with known tetnus on it, I had the shot every year for 18 years and never had a reaction to it. I've never known anyone who had a reaction to it.

I toio have never known anyone to have a reaction to it before....maybe try calling your Dr. Steve could be having these headaches for other reasons.....such as just because??

He does have problems with headaches. He's been complaining his sugar is out of whack. Could that be the cause of the headaches, too? Is it just a coincidence that the shot and the headaches started at the same time? He says only pain relief drugs (ibprophen) gets rid of the headaches. Normally, he can sleep them off.

Yes his blood sugar can cause head aches (ask Maree)....I too use Ibuprofen to get rid of mine......

:yup: Yep, fluctuations in blood sugar can cause headaches, esp. in people who have problems with headaches.
Lenora, please don't second-guess yourself on having him get the tetanus shot. Dealing with headaches is so much better than the alternative. (And that's coming from the headache :queen: !)
I hope Steve feels better soon! :ghug:

Now, he says he has a sinus infection which is causing the headaches. I made him some homemade minestone for dinner. I hope it helps.

It probably is his bolld sugar. But if it doesn't clear up soon, call the doctor and talk to him.

He says his infection broke and his headache went away. He's feeling good enough to whine about my homemade minestone soup not having chicken chunks in it. I think I liked it better when he had a headache.
