Hi Kim....... I finally went to the doctor the other day he gave me an anti depressant called Seroquel, 25MG. Well I took my first dose today and boy was I in zombie land
I have never heard of this drug. Is there anything you can tell me about it? Needless to say Iam taking NO more. I did not like the feeling. He gave me Ambien for a sleeping pill which also put me in lala land but that was what it was suppose to do. So I have no problems with that one. One last question........ is it normal for your arm to swell after having blood taken? Mine is swelling to it is going completley around my elbow and I can barely move it plus there is a bruise there and a long trail..... which looks like the vein she took the blood...... all brusied. Never had this happen when taken blood before. Oh and by the way......... my angiogram that I had BACK in August turned out fine. I have a good heart........

Yep. :yup: I have heard of Seroquel - its a dibenzothiazepine - so drowsiness/sleepiness is pretty common. I wouldn't just stop taking these meds... just stopping these type of meds can cause other problems. However, since you've only taken 1 dose, I don't think it will cause problems. I would speak with your MD's office and see if it's OK to start with a smaller dose since you are very sleepy with it.

Ambien is a good med. I have had good results using it with my patients.

As for lab draws, NO... you shouldn't have swelling or bruising -- occasionally that will happen if they went through the vein. However, to the point that you can't move your arm does concern me. I would call your MD's office, explain what happened & see what they want you to do. Cool compresses for the swelling should help until you can consult your MD to see what he wants you to do.

Thanks Kim and I did call my doctor today to check on my lab results and to let him know how that anti depressant was causing alot of drowsiness. So awaiting to see what he prescibes in its place. Am going to do what you suggested to my arm and see how it works. And if it doesn't help and only gets worse then I will go in there.
Thanks again........... :ghug:
