Hi Kim! It's me again! :D
The lovely stretch marks that I am getting on my stomach started to burn yesterday, one in perticular. I lifted my shirt to have a look and the stretch mark had blood right under the skin. Not the normal pinkish purple tone it usually has, it's definatly blood. When I touched it with my not so clean hands, it burned even more, sort of like when you touch broken skin. (Which is what it is.) Today I have about 4 more marks on my stomach that are the same way.
I use cocoa butter every night. :yuck: (I hate feeling like a greased pig!) Should I talk to my doctor about it or is this just something about stretch marks that no one told me?

Heather, my stretch marks seemed to get little red "blood bumps" in them (I'm sure that's not the techinical term ;) ). It burned and itched all the time. Hopefully, it's something that is just normal.

I hope it's normal too. Right now I feel like I have a bunch of paper cuts on my belly, I wish I could sit in some warm water to try to help it feel better but Gary is working on the walls in the bathroom and right now is not the time to ask him to stop so I can sit in the tub.
Yep, that's right, my bathroom still is not finished!

PS. "Blood bumps' sound like a techinical term to me!;)
Is there any chance that the cocoa butter is irritating your skin?

I didn't think about that. Hmmm...:hmm:

My stretch marks never burned but they got really really itchy!

I haven't had burning, but mine itch too. I bath myself in Vitamin E cream everynight and it seems to help. At least I can go to sleep instead of itching the night away. If the cocoa butter is causing a problem, vitamin E cream is supposed to reduce stretch marks, too, and you might find it less irrating.

Gary is going to Wal Mart tomorrw to get a few things and I was going to have him look for something else to rub on my stomach. Now I know what to tell him to get. I was going to tell him to look around and get whatever he thought would help. THANKS!
I can't shop for more than about 20 minutes any more because it is too exhausting for me. By the time I am halfway through Wal Mart I feel like I'm going to pass out.

I was going to suggest anti-biotic ointment. That's what my OB told me to use. Glad it is helping.

Boy, I'm always a day late or a dollar short... such is my life! :haha:
Sorry I didn't see this earlier. Just keep an eye on them. I was going to suggest Vitamin E oil. This worked really well for my surgical incision, so it probably could help the stretch marks. I think the earlier suggestions such as the Vitamin E lotions and the Neosporin are great too!
