Hey Kim........ my legs have been aching for weeks now, tylenol will not help them. It is driving me crazy. They ache so bad and on the right it goes all the way up to my hip. Any suggestions? No I haven't been on my legs alot.

Do you have any problems with blood clots? Are your legs swollen & really warm? Or is it just pain shooting up your legs? I'm thinking either a DVT or Sciatica, which both should be assessed by your Physician. :yup: With all the stress you've been under lately, neither would surprise me.

I don't think I have any blood clots. It's just an achy feeling from the knees down but the right one also aches in the back upper butt area/hip. There is no warm feelings or shooting pains. It's just a constant achy feeling. They don't look swollen to me but my left leg on the front has alot of veins showing.

:headscrat I think I would address this with your MD. From what you are describing, it sounds like the pain I have when my sciatica is acting up. Owie! :hugs2:

This may or may not help BUT my mom gets pains like that all the time and she was told by her dr to take in more potassium. So now whenever she feels the aches coming on she grabs a banana and eats it. She tries to make sure she eats one every day (even though she HATES them) and says that she can tell when she starts slacking.

I have horrible back problems from blowing out a disk or two. I get terrible achs also. They repaired the disks but there is still alot of damage. The hip pain sounds like sciatica. But plese do like Kim said and go see your Dr and keep us posted.

:yup: I know... I'm a nurse & I don't like having to go to the MD either. However, it's not a good thing to diagnose yourself. That's one of the primary reasons I make sure everyone here knows that ASK-A-NURSE is not intended to diagnose -- Diagnoses should only be made by an MD.

Most times, especially for the little things, you can be right -- you know your own body. But all it takes is one thing missed & there could be significant problems. Also, if the MD can successfully treat something & end the problem, why not get checked? Sure beats being in pain all the time. :yup:

Also... on the potassium thing.... I'd ask the MD too. See if a banana a day like Jen's Mom does would be OK for you, too. Should be OK, but don't overdo it... getting too much potassium can also be a bad thing. (Cardiac arrest, dysrhymias, etc.)

Yes--take your behind to the DR!!!!

I was just telling you what her DR told her so it was fine and well for HER to do it. I by no means know anything about any things like that so I do not know any consequences, etc....:)

Yes, definitely go to the doctor NOW! If it is sciatica I feel for you. Been there, done that, hate every time it visits!
