The Moon is in lovely Libra today, symbolizing our need to make nice. Normally, with the Libra Moon, we seek harmony and balance. Our creative and interpersonal skills are used diplomatically. But there are other factors pulling on us now as mental Mercury forms a dynamic square with passionate Pluto. Logic encourages us to tell it like it is. We can release volcanic tension through language. Also with romantic Venus supporting eccentric Uranus, our attempts to keep it nice and light will be superceded by a quest for freedom of expression.

Wednesday, March 10
The Moon is in emotionally intense Scorpio today, giving us the desire to keep our strongest feelings to ourselves. This secretive aspect of Scorpio is a way of holding power, but also assists in the internal processes of change. Although Scorpio is a fixed sign, it is really about metamorphosis -- the most profound kind of change. Nothing can stop Scorpionic transformation, once started. Also, with the Sun making a tense aspect to Venus, the planet of nice, we may not be able to enjoy ourselves unless we are willing to dig beneath the surface.

Friday, 12 March

The Moon slipped into adventurous Sagittarius just four minutes before 12:00 am EST, setting the stage for a shift from an emotional landscape into the action-oriented realms of fire. Also, Mercury enters fiery Aries today, where he remains for the rest of the month. We feel the excitement. We have new ideas and meet new people. It's like a fresh spring wind blowing through our minds. But there's a counter-current today as powerful Pluto is tensed by the Sun. Maybe our words are fast and fiery, but feelings are pushing up from beneath.

The Moon is in Sagittarius all day. Here, the Moon creates a need for adventure. It encourages us to aspire toward greater vision, bigger ideas and higher understanding. In fact, Sagittarius is the Archer, with his arrows of intention aiming high toward the boundless sky. And, with Mercury solidly entrenched in Aries, the rational mind is sharply focused on whatever needs to be done in order for the Archer's arrow to hit the target. But remember, the arrow symbolizes the direction of our thoughts. Now, more than ever, thoughts do create reality.

Monday 3/15

The Moon remains in down-to-earth Capricorn today. We take ourselves seriously; work comes before play. This is a good Monday Moon, for it sets an ambitious tone for the week ahead. Also, we have Mercury, the planet of thought and communication, forming a dynamic square with Capricorn's key planet, Saturn. Our thoughts are being tested. The good ideas become stronger as they meet resistance. The less valid ideas now can fall to the wayside. Today's tests become a good indication of how much work we have to do in revising our plans.

Wednesday 3/17

The Moon is in Aquarius, the sign of the Water Bearer. It can be confusing to think of the Water Bearer as an air sign, but that's what it is -- intellectually eclectic, sometimes brilliant, and connected to the collective mind, rather than the individual. Aquarius is also associated with the nervous system (another correlation to the element of air). But the air must contain water in order for electricity to be conducted, for neurons to fire, and for thoughts to occur and this is the weird part of Aquarius -- the connection between emotions and rational thinking.

Thursday 3/18

The Moon slips into watery Pisces at 10:26 am EST, symbolizing our need for understanding and compassion. But the Moon can get lost in the cosmic shuffle today, for there are all kinds of messages coming down from the planets. The Sun forms a supportive sextile with aggressive Mars, helping us stand up for what is ours. And today, Venus forms a tense square with Neptune, asking us to confront how our attractions and desires may need a reality check. It's a fuzzy kind of day where our feelings can get easily mixed up, leaving us to clean up an emotional mess.

Friday 3/19

The Moon is in imaginative Pisces, but that's not the only thing that is fishy. Mercury, the mental planet, forms a supportive sextile with Neptune, sensitizing us to things that are beyond the real world of events and circumstances. This is about being led (and misled) by our own fantasies. Of course, imagination is a mixed blessing, being the source of our creative vision and also the origin of confusion. We all benefit by paying attention to how our illusions can pull us away from the things we need to be thinking about.

Wednesday 3/24

The Moon is in down-to-earth Taurus. What we sense is real; if we cannot perceive it with our senses, then it doesn't exist. But today there is a deeper note being played on the cosmic harp as Mercury the Messenger forms a harmonious trine to intense Pluto. Mercury was the only Greek god who could travel unharmed back and forth over the River Styx, which separated Pluto's underworld from what appears up here on the surface. Similarly, we can use Mercury's ability to communicate to visit the depths of our subconscious mind and bring back jewels of awareness.

Observe how people become more alive, more talkative and more animated as the day wears on, for the Moon enters versatile Gemini at 12:34 pm EST and then conjuncts feisty Mars, adding sparks to this already volatile cosmic stew. We can try to focus and to concentrate, but we will still be flying around in a windstorm of thoughts, conversations and emails. This doesn't mean that we won't be productive. The best use of this Moon is communication. So, write those emails, make those phone calls, and get your thoughts down before they disappear into the wind.

Today is a day of complexity and subtlety. With the Moon in Gemini, we can enjoy the variety of cosmic forces pushing and pulling us in different directions. And, as the Sun squares Saturn, the resistance tells us to slow down or even stop. A barrier appears in front of us, even if we put it there ourselves. Less obviously, Venus, the romantic planet, is now making an irritable aspect with passionate Pluto. It's difficult to find a balance between our deeper feelings and our lighter, easier ones.

Wednesday 3/31

The Moon is in glorious Leo today, pushing our emotional focus toward the outer world. Today, it seems like everyone wants to be heard and accepted. The general energy level is rising, as both the Sun and the waxing Moon are in action-oriented fire signs now. Mercury leaves impulsive Aries late today and enters practical Taurus. But our thoughts are already getting sluggish as the planet of communication slows down to begin his retrograde phase next week when he then heads back to Aries for a quick review in fast thinking.
